Holidays

It has been a while since I have done a post :)

We got our family pictures done by Kacey and she is absolutely AMAZING...here is her blog if you would like to see it. I will post some pictures once I get some. I had such a good time with her and we all had a great time and I was worried about Sydney but she has fun and actually smiled when she was asked. I so wish I had the artistic eye but I am just not like that and I have to get over that.

Last Saturday Sydney and Seth went over to Aunt Lisa and Uncle Matt's house for the night and Mike and I got to get away. We stayed at the Scottsdale Cottonwood Resort and also went to Farrelli's dinner and a movie. We saw Couples Retreat, it was really funny and Mike was laughing sooooo hard which always makes me laugh. It was really nice being able to not have to but the little guy down to bed and get Sydney ready for bed and all the drama for one night. And it was also so nice to wake up on my own and not hearing crying at 6am or Sydney yelling "mommy get up?" It was such a nice little break with my husband and being able to just relax with him and have one very normal relaxing night. We are so very thankful to have someone that is not afraid to watch Seth and who is comfortable enough just in case something does happen. Thanks so much Lisa.

This year for Christmas we have a busy week. On the 22nd we have my husband's work party in the afternoon and the kids are welcomed so that should be fun and interesting at the same time. I think the 23rd we are going over to the MacCallum's or they are coming here and we are going to do dinner and gifts which is going to be fun. I am so glad that my kids have another wonderful family in their lives and of course Sydney is in LOVE with Topher, she talked about him all the time and wants to see him every day. The first thing she says when she gets up in the morning is "gonna see Topher this morning?" If I say no she then says, "gonna see Lorelai today?" She loves them so much. I love the fact that there is someone besides immediate family that really loves my kids. Christmas Eve we are going over to my parents house for the evening to open gifts and spend sometime together. I think Steven and Caitie will be there so it will be nice to have the whole family together. Christmas Morning we always go to Mike's moms for breakfast and then we open gifts and watch some movies. I think this year we will hang out there for breakfast and gifts but come home and let the kids take a nap at home and then open up our family gifts with each other. I had a great time going out and getting Mike's Christmas gifts and one gift I can not wait to give him but I am still waiting for it to arrive. I hope that everyone has a wonderful CHRISTmas and I will be sure to post some pictures really soon!

Is no news good news?

So there is really not much to update on Seth. We are seeing a new pediatrician and praying that this is a great fit for us. So far things have been working out in a good way especially since our Neurologist loves the practice that we go to and the nurse practitioner use to work for him so I think that is a good sign.

Seth's life is about to get a little bit busier I think. After Christmas on the 29th he will get a PT evaluation and they will decided then how often she would like to see him. The Developmental Specialist would like to get a Physical Therapist out to see him because he is not really rolling over, sitting up, grabbing for toys or focusing on things. Right now they are thinking once a week as well as a Occupational Therapist so we will for sure be having people out to the house 3 times a week. I am not sure how that will work out for me but I will of course find a way to make it work. Right now my main focus is trying to find a pediatric optometrist to take a look at his eyes and see if there is something that we can do to either strengthen his eyes or get some glasses on him so that he can see.

Lately we have been really working on his tummy time and what we call deep pressure "beeps" which is kind of hard to explain on a blog but it will help his brain and sending signals to his brain in different ways. We are hoping that because of the brain calcifications, when we do the "beeps" the signals will find a different way to get to the brain and strengthen different parts so that eventually it will seem like nothing was wrong with his brain. I am so not sure if this is making any sense but thats all I got :)

Last night we went to Bass Pro Shop to get the kids pictures with Santa and then went out to dinner. We went with the MacCallum's and we had a great time and all the kids were really good at BPS as well as dinner. I will post up the picture that we got with Santa because it is pretty funny!

I hope that everyone has a very Merry CHRISTmas and I will keep you all updated on anything new!

5 Months

Seth is 5 months (nov 22) already...when the heck did that happen?? I can not believe how big he is getting and his face to me is looking so much older. He smiles so much more now and he loves to look at the lights on our Christmas tree.

Here are some 5 month pictures of the muffin :)

No more pics!

He loves to take baths

One of my favorites!

He is such a muffin I cant stand it!

Oct 31st I took Seth to the after hours doctor appointment because I thought that he had another UTI. He was again peeing out mucus. So I took him in and saw a doctor that I really didn't like because his normal doc was not there. Anyways they told me that he should be fine and that they would send his urine to the lab and let me know. By Monday I got the call that his urine was fine and no infection...but yet in my head I knew that he had one because he was still peeing out mucus. I waited because they said he was fine and by Wednesday in the evening he vomited everywhere, meaning all over me and him. So I called his Dr office because it was 4:30pm and I wanted to get him in before the close but they could not get him in so I took him to goodnight peds. where I got in so quick and they got a urine sample (with the mucus) and he did have a UTI. They gave him a shot of antibiotics. They also drew blood because of the levels he could have possibly gone septic which is so not good and thank the Lord he was border line okay and I was able to take him home.

So he was still on antibiotics when his 4 month check up came around so I waited and then we had Sydney's birthday party and two days after that he got sick. He was sick from the 16-25 when I finally took him in again and he got put on an antibiotic again. So we finally got him in for his 4 month check up yesterday 12-2. He is 19.7 pounds (95%) 271/2 inches (90%) He is such a big boy!

So as of right now we have no reason to go into the pediatrician unless he gets sick or gets another UTI which is so nice. Within the next week or so we have to get in with the urologist because his circumcision for the 19th of November was canceled because he was sick. I am wanting to meet with them because I want to get the circ and his kidney reflux issues fixed all at the same time. So right now his new circ date is for the 7th of January. He also has a follow-up with his hearing doctor in January and he will have another hearing test done. He will also meet again with his neurologist as soon as he finishes his first bottle of his seizure medication.

We can not wait for Christmas here in the Marinello household and I am just praying that he can go one month without a UTI!
